About the Captain
Capt. Joel Mick has been running a charter boat in South Jersey for almost 30 years. Beginning with the Paper Moon back in the '60's, Capt. Mick made a name for himself while running the Melody II. (He donated the fifty plus year-old charter boat to the Barnegat Baymen's Museum, now the Tuckerton Seaport.) As bluefish, weakfish and fluke stocks steadily declined, Capt. Mick honed his skills as an expert wreckfisherman, fishing mostly for blackfish (tautog) and sea bass and recently concentrating on the resurgent striped bass in the fall.
